What customers need to know

Open a question to read the answer and continue to deeper guidance where appropriate.

01What information is needed for a freight quote?

Provide the pickup city, final destination, exact product description, package count, final packed weight and dimensions, cargo value, ready date, preferred delivery responsibility and any battery, liquid, powder or magnetic status.

Use the freight quote checklist
02Why can the final rate differ from an early estimate?

An early estimate may rely on provisional dimensions, weight, route, schedule or service scope. The rate can change when final packing, carrier space, commodity acceptance, destination charges or delivery requirements are confirmed.

03How long is a freight quotation valid?

Validity depends on the carrier, route, market and quoted terms. Use the expiry stated in the quotation and request reconfirmation before booking if cargo details or the ready date change.

04Does a freight quote include duties and taxes?

Only when the quotation explicitly says so. Duties, VAT, GST, tariffs and importer obligations depend on the destination, product, value and selected Incoterm.

Understand DDP, DAP and DDU
05Why are final packed dimensions important?

Freight moves the packed unit, including cartons, pallets, crates and protective material. Those final measurements affect air chargeable weight, ocean CBM, equipment fit and handling.

06How should I compare two freight quotations?

Align the pickup point, destination, transport mode, customs responsibility, duties, destination charges, delivery scope, validity and exclusions. Comparing only the main freight line can hide material differences.
